Welcome to the Comerford Family History Blog

Welcome to the Comerford Family History blog.

In time, I hope to post useful information for anyone interested in the history of the Comerford, Comberford and Quemerford families in Ireland (particularly Co Kilkenny, Co Wexford, Co Waterford, Co Carlow, the neighbouring areas, and their descendants) and in England (Staffordshire and Wiltshire), along with relevant photographs and web links.

Please be patient, as this will take some time. But in the meantime, if you are interested in contributing to this site, or in contributing information, please post your comments.

Thanks Patrick.

Yes, Ballybur does look wanderful these days, and the weblink you posted shows it at its best. Keep in touch with this blog, and let me know if you have anything you want to share with other Comerfords. You can also contact me through Facebook if you're on Facebook.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply - I wonder was it James and Anne who lived at Butterslip? Your website is very interesting. I know that there was a Marie Therese Comerford in my family in mid-1800s who went to USA and was in a religious order. I hope to spend some time soon doing some research and will be in touch again if I come up with anything. Thanks again, Mary Jane

I was excited to find your Comerford blog and hope I will be able to connect my great-grandfather and his American ancestors back into Ireland. The farthest back I have on the line is Patrick Comerford born in Botetourt, Virginia in 1765. Thanks for you enlightening blog.

What a delight to read. What a long read. Well done you, sir.

I looked over the whole of it. It took two days. What a labour of love. It was a rare privilege to read it and I can imagine your thrill in the doing of it. Wow.

There was a fair bit of humour as well. Good on ya, sir.

I love the study of history as well as the study of human behaviours and this was just lovely.
